A little about my career in Aesthetics!

My career in Medical Aesthetics started in 1991 while working for Curt Littler, MD, a trailblazing Cosmetic Dermatologist in La Jolla, California as his Medical Assistant. Many of our patients were golfers and beach lovers exposed to the sun, whose skin tended to be stressed with environmental damage, and premature aging. It was an amazing learning experience as I assisted the physician with experimental fillers using human plasma, cryotherapy, clinical chemical peels, pulsed dye laser therapies, and in removing both benign and malignant skin lesions including Melanoma. It was in those early years in Dermatology where I learned about the function and structure of the skin, and how to nurture, restore and protect it. 
After my husband retired from the Navy, I continued my Aesthetic career in Charlotte, NC, where I worked for the renowned plastic surgeon Joseph Hunstad, MD, at The Hunstad Center For Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. I would provide skincare services and programs for pre and post operative care, laser and IPL treatment, advanced peels, ultrasound, lymphatic drainage, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, O2 and other modalities. I loved taking care of our facelift patients, cleaning their incisions and providing lymphatic massage and oxygen therapies. Being able to nurture and care for our patients while making them comfortable during the healing process was such a wonderful, treasured experience. Everyone needs that human connection, to be cared for and to feel good about themselves and that is why I love Aesthetics.
While working in Charlotte, I was blessed to travel to Vancouver Canada and volunteer with the Phoenix Society at The World Burn Congress. While there, I provided skin care treatments, education  and reconstructive makeup techniques to burn survivors.
In addition to working at the Med Spa in Charlotte, I also established a separate successful, private practice skincare studio in Cornelius, NC and Peaks Island, Maine, where I offered more holistic based services with the latest in non invasive skincare modalities and products. 
I'm so excited to offer new, results driven treatments to my new Calabash and surrounding Brunswick County community.
